šŸ„ $80M VA Clinic Coming to Hampton Roads—Targeting Long Waits and Long Drives

Rep. Jen Kiggans and the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee have advanced a new $80 million VA outpatient clinic in the 757, with construction expected to begin soon and service to veterans starting by spring 2029.

The project will:

  • Expand mental health care, medical services, and benefits counseling
  • Serve more than 60% of Hampton VAMC patients who currently live on the Southside
  • Help fulfill the PACT Act’s mission by increasing capacity for toxic-exposed and underserved veterans
  • Provide a central hub for modernized, community-based VA care in Hampton Roads

Senators Warner and Kaine called the facility a major step toward reducing wait times and travel burdens, noting it’s unacceptable for veterans to ā€œwait hours or drive hours for basic appointments.ā€
