About AFGE Local 2328 and the Hampton VA Medical Center

Welcome to the digital home of AFGE Local 2328, the union representing over 900 federal employees at the Hampton Veterans Affairs Medical Center—one of the oldest VAs in the country and the epicenter of veteran care in a region with more veterans per capita than anywhere in the nation.

We are custodians of both public trust and worker power. When federal jobs are under attack, when cuts hit hardest, when bureaucracy fails veterans—we show up, stand up, and fight back.

🛠️ What We Do

  • Negotiate contracts that protect your pay, rights, and job security
  • Defend workers against unfair discipline, retaliation, and harassment
  • Organize across departments, facilities, and state lines to build labor power
  • Train new leaders to carry the movement forward

The Hampton VAMC is a historic institution, founded in 1870 to serve our nation’s veterans. Today, it stands at a crossroads—between privatization and public accountability. Between burnout and solidarity.
