🗳️ AFGE Endorses Jay Jones for Virginia Attorney General

AFGE has officially endorsed Jay Jones for Virginia Attorney General in the upcoming November 4 statewide elections.

Jones, a former dues-paying AFGE member from Local 1403, has pledged to use every tool available to protect the collective bargaining rights of federal and D.C. government employees living in Virginia. His campaign has actively engaged union members and opposed anti-worker policies coming from the Trump administration.

“Jay Jones comes out of my AFGE region. He is one of us,” said District 14 VP Ottis Johnson Jr.

“We need pro-labor champions in AG offices across the country,” added District 4 VP Christine Surrette.

AFGE’s endorsement comes as part of a broader effort to elect pro-union attorneys general who will stand up against privatization, staffing cuts, and union-busting executive orders.

📍 Virginia is home to 144,000 federal employees, many of whom work at the VA, DoD, and other mission-critical agencies.
